I was away from the Sri Lankan blogosphere for a "long long time", and had my mind made up for "not returning". But, the recent incidents taking place in the country, triggered me to read what the others say on Kottu, and started reading and commenting on few blogs. This morning, I started to write a comment for one of Sittingnut's posts, and suddenly realized the "comment" is becoming too lengthy. I thought "why not I post this as a complete post on my blog?".
Ok. The comment I made on Sittingnut's blog follows this. I recommend you to read the Sittingnut's blog post first, to understand the context in which my comments are made. I started off with a reply to a comment by one "Anonymous".

S'nutt. Me too observed the blog reaction to these incidents. Unfortunately, I am not able to write anything due to some other reasons. As you predicted when you first commented on my blog (about a year and a half ago), "every blogger will have to give it up, due to one reason or another". So, I have more than one reason to do away with blogging. It's not in my list of priorities anymore. How ever, I do read every thing come up on Kottu feed. And I comment, less often than those days. This is one such rare occasion. (I guess I'm not blogging my self, on your site :-) This is just a comment)

Every single word, I said about the "Evacuating tamils from Colombo lodges" has now proven true. Every single blogger, who were against the gov's decision to send home those suspicious buggers, should be held liable for the bomb blast in Nugegoda. Includes, Indi, Ravana, Whistleblower, David Blacker and many more. Those who wanted to keep "as many as Tamils" inside Colombo lodges, "without a proper reason". Both the bomb attacks day before yesterday, was planned and carried out by people lodged at those lodges. During last few weeks, the number of North Eastern Tamils, checking in to these lodges has sky rocketed. No one knows the reason, why they come to Colombo. But the Police can't do anything, because Pakayasoththi and Kumar Rupasinghe is there for the rescue. And a whole bunch of Sri Lankan bloggers to defend them.

This is what I dont get and I think Ive mentioned this before...if they are capable of blasting them selves and carrying bombs around town and capable of coming to colombo on fake IDs and so on how stupid can they be to say they dont have a valid reason or blabber crap about why they are in colombo? that doesn't make any sense to me...and how would you prove that the ones blasted them selves were indeed living in Colombo lodges? and why do u keep on brining back this again and again? what are you achieving from this? if you wanna chase them away fine chase them away and see if there is any improvement of some sort..if so i'll support what you say

Wrong judgement! When did I said so? They are always welcome to enter Colombo, as much as we are entitled to enter Kilinochchi. But, "I do not like sucide bombers and terrorists entering Colombo, and if any one is suspecious for being a one, they should be arrested". Now, if you generalize this as "not like Northern Tamils entering to Colombo", then my dear friend Roshana, you are under the assumption "Every Northern Tamil is a terrorist". Do you think so? This was my post about the "eviction incident", and what I have said is, "The way in which, those people were evicted was wrong". But, I was clearly standing in the opinion that, the eviction was nothing to do with "racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing" but it was a necessary action, for ensuring the security of Colombo. But, some other bloggers were in the opinion that it was "gross violation of human rights, and discrimination based on ethnicity and place of birth".
So, for your understanding please let me say this. "I don't want to see ALL TAMILS evicted from Colombo (as you mentioned here). But, I want ALL TERRORISTS (regardless they are Tamil, Sinhala or Muslim [or Norwegian] to be cleared from Colombo" . Again, you make this statement, with the assumption "Tamils = Terrorists". But, I don't believe in that.

This is where you mess up with your logic! You don't know how to arrive at a conclusion "logically". The first two statements do not back up your conclusion at all!
Any one who followed this blog for a while, will say what VIC stands for. VIC believes in a one country, where Tamils & Sinhalese live in peace. The only obstacle in the middle is the LTTE (or rather Prabhakaran). If, we can remove this obstacle, the rest of the problems will be solved could be solved within a one country.
And what, the so called "peace lovers" are trying to do is, defering our chances of removing this obstacle, by directly or indirectly supporting Prabhakaran.

I would (grudgingly) concede that as individuals, Tamils may have the same rights as Sinhalese in Sri Lanka. But as a community, Tamils simply cannot have an equal say (ie. 50:50) in this country. Sinhalese are unique and native to Sri Lanka, as Tamils are to Tamil Nadu, and the French to France. This is a bloody democracy and democracies are majoritarian. Before complaining, just have a look at how Tamils treat minorities in Tamil Nadu.
There's no need for Tamils to part from Sri Lanka. They've already got their own country and we didn't ask them to come to ours. It's up to them to liberate their motherland from India. Even if we grant Tamileelam, there is no guarantee that the Tamils living in the rest of Sri Lanka would leave. So what's the point?
I think we should just completely ban the Northern/Eastern Tamil residents from entering Colombo to prevent them from blowing up our children. Israel does it to Palestinians and it's working.

I have no issues with respecting Australia's values and culture. In fact I've always advocated assimilating and integrating new immigrants, and supported John Howard's measures to restrict troublesome refugees such as Tamils and Sudanese.

Let's not worry about deportation to Tamil Nadu for now. What needs to be done immediately is, to stop any Tamils from leaving the Northern and Eastern provinces without a valid reason. North and East should be made an open prison for would-be-terrorists. The government should also institute an Israeli-like policy of flattening the villages and family homes of suicide bombers. They should also bring back the death penalty, and hang terrorist supporters, financiers, and facilitators under the emergency regulations, without prolonged trials.
Tamils whose original residences are in the North and East, and who have only come to Colombo after December 2002, and have no valid reason to stay here, must immediately be evacuated to their home-towns. We should do this in the heat of this latest terrorist attack. The right of our children to live in safety is more important than the human rights of terrorists to blow them up.
